His self-appointed moniker of “Mr. No Days Off” may be a boast, but Darren Young has certainly stayed busy in WWE.First appearing as a Rookie on the debut season of NXT, Young went on to rattle cages as a part of The Nexus — the bandof hooligans who attempted to overthrow WWE in 2010. Hungry to makean impact, the hard-hitter interfered in various matches, particularly those of Superstar John Cena, in an effort to carve out a place for himself in WWE. Exiled from The Nexus after a demoralizing defeat at the hands of the Cenation leader, Young re-emerged on Raw as a rival to Wade Barrett and his former NXT allies. The ambitious competitor also appeared on WWE NXT Redemption, where again he showed both promise and passion. It was then-General Manager John Laurinaitis who formally placed Darren Young and his newfound ally Titus O’Neilon the SmackDown roster.Taking on the name of The Prime Time Players, Young and O’Neil wanted to the WWE Universe that they’re worth the “millions of dollars” they said they were. They did so by snaring victories over WWEs top teams, including the likes of legendary luchador Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara and The Real Americans.Despite earning a Tag Team Championship Match by emerging victorious in a Tag Team Turmoil Match among a field of five tandems at Night of Champions 2013, The Prime Time Players came up short against Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns of The Shield with the titles on the line.Unbeknownst to Young, the lack of championships was upsetting his partner and close friend. Titus ONeils disappointment reached a boiling point on the Jan. 31, 2014, edition of SmackDown. After The Prime Time Players lost to Curtis Axel & Ryback, ONeil said he was done with Young. Darren couldnt believe what he was hearing as he told Titus they were like brothers, that they could work through this. Unfortunately, ONeil wasnt having any of it. He assaulted Young as the WWE Universe watched in shock, puttinga brutal end to their partnership.A furious Young got a measure of retribution on the Feb. 7 edition of SmackDown, attacking ONeil backstage.WWE officials had to pull the enraged Superstar off of his former partner to control the chaos. One week later, Younggot his hands on Titus once again one week later, as his former partner tried to blindside him after a victory over DamienSandow. However, Young battled back and got the last laugh, sending ONeil scurrying to the back with a torn-up suit.At Elimination Chamber, Young was unable to punish Titus for his betrayal, losing to The Real Deal in singles action."Mr. No Days Off" didnt give his partner much time to gloat, getting a win of his own just days later on WWE Main Event. After sustaining an ACL injury that kept him sidelined for nearly a year, Young officially returned to action on the Feb. 16, 2015 episode of Raw, when former tag team partner Titus O’Neil saved Young from an underhanded attack by The Ascension. Reunited and stronger than ever, The Prime Time Players competed in the first-ever Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships during WWE Elimination Chamber, but the trio would experience another first just two weeks later. At Money in the Bank, The Prime Time Players won their first WWE Tag Team Championship and defended their newly won titles in a rematch with The New Dayat WWE Battleground. Young & O’Neil faced their greatest challenge yet when they put their tandem titles on the line against Los Matadores, The Lucha Dragons and The New Day in a Fatal 4-Way Match at SummerSlam, but it wasThe New Day who emerged from the fray with the titles. The Prime Time Players failed to reclaim their prizes from The New Day on the season premiere of Raw, however the indomitable duo is more determined than ever to once again stand atop WWEs tag team division. Whenever he heads toward the ring, Darren Young is out to show the WWE Universe that "Mr. No Days Off” isnt just a nickname he gave himself, but a moniker earned through dedication.
